Our goal at Sunrise Christian Academy is to work together in harmony with you, your family and your local church. We would be very pleased to have you join us! 

Founded In 1983, by Dr. Robert Lindsted, Sunrise Christian Academy began as a grade school emphasing academic excellence and Bibical teaching. While there were a number of fine Christian schools in Wichita, none of them met the aspirations of the families that joined Dr. Lindsted in looking for a more traditional, bibical approach to learning. After visiting several existing schools, they decided to hire one teacher and begin instruction with just six students in grades 3 and 5. The thought was that this would be a temporary, one-year project, and that a suitable school would be found by the end of the year. However, no other school was found, and due to SCA's success, those involved decided to continue the project for another year.

As the second year began, more families joined, two more teachers were hired, and a total of 38 students comprised the student body. SCA continued to grow by adding one grade each year, until the Fall of 1987 when grades 9 through 12 were added.

Sunrise Christian Academy, which literally began in one room of a family home, has now grown to include over 800 students on a campus spanning 18 acres.
