The K4 classes are learning about some of the miracles that Jesus performed. They are also learning a memory verse each week and we talk about how we can apply God’s Word in our lives. The students love to sing songs about God in the classroom, in music class, and at chapel time. We are currently working through ten readers that review letters, blends, and cvc (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. These readers also introduce the children to reading sentences and they begin learning punctuation. The students are also practicing writing and illustrating sentences. The students are practicing counting aloud to at least 150, writing their numbers to 100, and placing numbers in proper numerical order up to 20. The students are being introduced to the concept of basic addition.
The K4 classes were able to perform at a nursing center and for their families this past December. The theme of their program was "Happy Birthday Jesus".
We also prepared and sent huge packages to six soldiers stationed overseas. We have received letters of appreciation and even some pictures of the soldiers who received the boxes.
In January the classes had their pancake parties and celebrated Kansas Day by taking trail rides on their homemade stick horses. We recently celebrated Valentine’s Day by sharing God’s love with each other. We participated in an effort to provide lots of scarves, hats, and gloves for the Children’s Home. The entire elementary collected items and it was a blessing to both the giver and the receiver.
